§ 02, how a swap actually runs

From wallet to deep water

    You hit swap on Uniswap V4

    You sign one swap on the ETH and ES pair. Uniswap routes the call through the EtherSea hook before it settles. No extra approvals or steps beyond the normal Uniswap flow.

  2. 02

    The hook reads your depth

    Before the swap clears, the hook checks your current depth. If you have not swapped in the last 24 hours the depth is zero. Otherwise it carries the value from your last swap.

  3. 03

    Hook quotes the fee, adds new depth

    The fee for this swap is read from the band table by current depth. Then the hook adds the descent from this swap, so your next swap may land in a cheaper tier.
